2003-W First Flight Gold Commemorative

The 2003-W First Flight Gold Commemorative was issued to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers' historic first flight. The coin depicts a portrait of the Wright Brothers and an eagle in flight above the Wright 1903 Flyer. The coins bear the "W" mint mark and were minted at the West Point mint. The coins were issued in both uncirculated and proof versions. The mintage for uncirculated coins was 21,676 and the mintage for proof coins was 10,009.
